DT Ich mag es durch die Kamera zu beobachten. Vielleicht hat diese Vorliebe damit zu tun, dass ich in meiner Kindheit viele Male umgezogen bin und häufig etwas außen vor stand. Das Fotografie Studium an der Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen schloss ich mit einer Videoarbeit ab, in der sich Teenager aus dem Ruhrgebiet zu den fiktiven Figuren eines amerikanischen Jugendfilms aus den 1980er-Jahren verhalten. Mich interessiert, wie unterschiedliche Bewertungen, Sympathien oder Antipatien ausfallen bzw. wie viel sie mit uns selber zu tun haben. Derzeit studiere ich sowohl Regie, als auch Drehbuch im Master an der Filmakademie Wien. Der Fotografie bin ich in unterrichtender Tätigkeit treu geblieben.

EN By the time I finished school, my family had lived in three countries and moved apartments six times. I was often the new kid, perhaps this influenced my passion of quietly observing the world through a camera lens. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in photography at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen but actually completing my studies with a video project in which adolescents from the Ruhr region relate themselves to the fictional characters of an American teen film from the 1980s. I was curious how different judgments, sympathies, or antipathies of fictional characters arise, and what they reveal about us. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in both directing and screenwriting at the Vienna Film Academy.
